This is a moralistic children’s story lacking religious overtone about sharing and getting along with others. The cousins in the story learn to play together and think about their actions.

According to the description in the AAS catalog, there are two versions of this small chapbook. This version states the publisher as “Merriam & Moore” on the title page and “Merriam Moore & Co.” on the front engraving. Merriam & Moore only stated their name this way in 1851, but from 1847 to 1858 they added “& Co.”.
