The author, Marion J. Bradshaw, was a professor of the Philosophy of Religion at the Bangor Theological Seminary, Bangor, Maine. The seminary was ecumenical and in the tradition of the Congregational tradition of the United Church of Christ. It was founded in 1814 and closed in 2013 after 199 years. The book is a celebration of the state of Maine in photographs and text.
