Boxed set of six (6) large puzzles produced by J.W. S. & S. printers in Bavaria, circa early 1900s. The six puzzles are constructed of thin wood, the bottom covered with blue paper and the top pictorials of two children in traditional Dutch dress. Each puzzle measures 13 5/8" x 7 3/4", is made up of 18 jigsaw pieces, printed by color wood-engraving, and sits on a companion color pictorial of stiff paper stock for easy puzzle assembly. One puzzle has no corresponding stiff paper underlay, and that is the puzzle for the scene on the box cover. One small piece on the pictorial of children feeding chickens has broken off.
