A wonderful small discourse on maple syrup in a tiny book, bound in colors reminiscent of autumn.

The book was produced by Robert L. Merriam (1924-2014). Merriam was a graduate of Dartmouth and both an instructor and coach at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, later the Headmaster of Stoneleigh Burnham School. Late in his career he served at Greenfield Community College as an Assistant to the President and Director of Development. Merriam was an author, a painter in the primitive style, and both a bookseller and binder.

The tiny bookplate is that of Robert E. Massmann, (1924-2013), the former Director of Library Services at Central Connecticut State University. He was involved in the miniature book world as a collector, publisher, and past president of the Miniature Book Society.
