Sibylle von Olfers (1181-1916) was a German nun who worked as an art teacher, author and illustrator of children’s books. Perhaps best known for her illustrations in the book The Story of the Root Children, this book also enters a fantastical world. The story and charming illustrations follow the growth and education of the butterfly children.
