A small but charming and happy Currier & Ives hand-colored lithographic print of two children and their pets, a girl holding a cat and a boy with a dog. One of their lesser-known prints, it is attributed to Nathaniel Currier (1813-1888) with approximate print dates of 1896 through 1907. The dress of the children would suggest an earlier era, but the company’s address at 33 Spruce Street in New York places the printing in these dates and after Currier’s death. Frederic A. Conningham, in his exhaustive volume Currier & Ives Prints, An Illustrated Check List, lists no other printing dates or addresses.
