Christmas card designed and printed by Ben Albert Benson, an artist working in wood-cut. The print was originally designed for Better Home and Garden magazine. The sender, Douglas McMurtrie (1888-1944), was a well-known typeface and graphic designer, as well as an important bibliographer of printing. The envelope is addressed to Mr. E. W. [Ernest William] Winkler (1875-1960) at the University of Texas Library, an important librarian, bibliographer, past Texas State librarian, and secretary of the Texas State Library and Historical Commission.
