Kate Douglas Wiggin (1856-1923) was an American educator and author of children’s fiction, most notably The Bird’s Christmas and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. Some of her stories, including Half-A-Dozen Housekeepers, were first published in the St. Nicholas Magazine for children.
