A needlework manuscript written and wrought by A. LOCK. We are given no hint to the full identity of the notebook author, nor the purpose for cataloging the sewing techniques and fabric samples, but the last written pages give a clue.  Short essays or advanced class notes titled, “Aims of a Needlework Teacher” and “Making a Syllabus”, speak of introducing the child to the needle arts from the age of 4 years. Topics covered include stitches, edgings, seams, darning, sewing machines, mattress and carpet construction, knitting notes, undergarment material and construction, and identification of fabrics. Carefully scribed notes in neat blue ink on lined paper with small detailed drawings to accompany the text.

Price: $550.00
