The second edition of what was to be a popular household book, this one advertises that it has been revised, improved, and added to. Contents included recipes, a Medicinal Department, and a Miscellaneous section that includes housekeeping helps.
The lovely wood-engraved frontispiece features a cut-away view of two women working in a well-appointed kitchen. Small printer’s ornaments shape the foundation and roof peak, and an American eagle can be seen in the attic space.
