A small anthology of verse with illustrations produced as a small gift-style book. The illustrations draw their inspiration from Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle with the front wrapper featuring Rip bowling ten-pins. The theme continues with titled illustrations of scenes from the Hudson River Valley. Quotes from the poetry of Alfred Lord Tennyson, Williams, and Crabbe form the text.
