First published in 1844, this is the second printing of a collection of 8 short stories and 5 poems for children. The story titled “The Indian War-Whoop” speaks of “ferocious savages” and “barbarous warfare” in the tale of a girl who mistakes the screech of an owl for attacking Indians. Nicely bound.
