A very charming book for children introducing them to famous composers and musicians in story form. Each chapter is introduced by a rhyming verse. In introducing the chapter on the Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn the chapter starts “Said Papa Haydn, ‘Though I roam. / I’ll always remember singing at home, / In Vienna I learned to sing / And play on almost everything!’” Illustrated throughout by Violet Moore Higgins (1886-1967), a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, she was also a writer and cartoonist.
