One of two hundred copies of this American printing of the speech of King Edward VIII of England abdicating the throne, this one embellished by the wood-engraved art of Mallette Dean (1907-1975) for the Grabhorn Press of San Francisco. King Edward left the throne of England to marry the American divorcee, Wallis Simpson. Along with the King’s speech is the sympathetic sentiments of the writer, William Saroyan (1908-1981).
The lovely color wood-engraving of the Coat of Arms of the Duke of Windsor, the title the former King received after his abdication, appears on the front board and again on the first page following the title page.
