A very pretty unused Album in the popular mid-19th century style. Ten engraved illustrated plates are interleaved with blank pages for friends to write sentiments. The plates are titled "At Mama's Toilet," picturing a young girl in a dressing gown powdering her face; "Letting in the New Year" pictures a large home in the woods with four men standing outside the door; "The First Pants" illustrates a mother dressing a young boy in a pair of short pants with a dog watching and wagging its tail; "At the Preserves" pictures a young girl eating jam from her finger; "Caught in the Snow" is a picture of two finely dressed women walking in the snow near a meadow, a small dog running at their feet;
Two Little Monkeys" pictures an organ girl and her monkey; and "The Kittens" pictures two white kittens playing in a pile of cut flowers.

The Illman Brothers, an engraving and printing firm in New York City, produced finely done steel plate engravings in the mid-19th century.
