Folio shapebook (13 ¾” x 4 5/8”); 16pp; thick stiff board with a rounded head, metal grommet allows the applied elephant head to swivel on its body, 4 color half-tone, rear panel white; 2 staple binding, bottom staple just short of the fold and through front cover and impressed on the pages; red and black printed vignette of a clown on the title page, “Patent Applied For”; 7 full-page illustrations printed in red and black; scuffing to edges, gift inscription on rear in pencil, Christmas seal on rear wrapper, age-toned pages; very good. A clever movable book about a circus elephant that came to town and a boy named Johnny Pancake. No print date but the Regensteiner Corporation was founded in 1921 by Theodore Regensteiner after he left the American Colortype Company in 1906. He founded the Regensteiner Colortype Corporation in 1907, which changed its name in 1921. (Printer’s Ink April 1921.).
