Published first in the U.S. in 1859 by Robert Bonner, owner of the New York Ledger, it was published again in the periodical All the Year Round in 1860. The British publisher Hotten published it in 1870 with a paper wrapper and publisher's ads at the rear. This copy was bound in brown calf and lacks a binder name. Curiously it also lackes the publisher's ads at the rear but includes 26 flyleaves.
