Baumgarten’s bibliography notes the Hubbard Publishing Co., Philadelphia, as a publisher. It is reasonable to believe that they also printed this advertising premium for the Jordan, Marsh & Co. store. The rear wrapper advertises the Busy Brownies Series “with Illustrations by Palmer Cox, Author of ‘The Brownies,’” stating a “Publisher’s Price, 15 cents each” and “Our Price, 5 cents each. (If sent by Mail, Postage One cent.).” Jordan, Marsh & Co. was a Boston headquartered department store founded in 1841 and operated with multiple stores throughout New England.
