Music and words written in anticipation of Maine’s Centennial in 1920. Edwards, the State Musical Director, wrote on p. 4 of “A Great Centennial Chorus”, “It is planned to have a chorus of at least 1000 singers in each of the choruses…and it is expected that the chorus which will be assembled at Portland in September, 1920, will number ten thousand singers”.
