Bookplate belonging to Claud Lambton (1888-1976) on front pastedown. Lambton became the Director of the William and Morris, now the Morris & Co., design firm in 1905. A wonderful fanciful bookplate with his signature ram's head. A personal account of a round the world inspection of some of England's holdings including Australia, New Zealand, the Cape Colony as well as their climates, geography, resources and government, and ''management of the races.'' Also included is a discourse of America and the effects of the American civil war.
