Written by Dr. Francis Watson, a urologist, the play was performed at the Tavern Club in Boston on February 19, 1902. The cast was packed with Boston area physicians, many of who are remembered today for their prominent rolls in medicine. Dr. Harvey Cushing (1869-1939), father of modern neurosurgeon and author, played four of the roles. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1926 for his biography of William Osler, M.D. Also a players, was Dr. Samuel Langmaid, one of the four founding fathers of Children’s Hospital Boston.
