Charles Addams (1912-1988) was a well-known American 20th century cartoonist, whose work regularly appeared in the The New Yorker magazine, as well as Collier’s and TV Guide. The recurring cartoons of a family soon became known as the Addams Family, and eventually found their way to both television and then to movies.
