Stunning photographic illustrations of the wreckage from the March 1936 catastrophic flooding that resulted from two weeks of rain in New England. The rain and flooding was compounded by the ice still in the rivers and snow on the ground. These photographs record the flooding from the Androscoggin River in Maine. The flooding resulted in President Franklin D. Roosevelt signing the Flood Control Act of 1936.
