Commemorative bandana or handkerchief printed for the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876, both the first official World’s Fair and the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Held in Philadelphia, from May 10 to November 10, 1876, Memorial Hall where the Art Gallery was displayed, is the only large building of more than 200 constructed, that is still standing today.
This bandana is an unusually clean and darkly printed survivor.
